Single Vision

Standard Lenses

Our standard single vision lenses can be glazed with an anti-reflection coating called Pristine. This coating will help improve your vision and reduce the strain on your eyes by cutting down on unwanted glare from multiple light sources. This allows more light to enter your lenses and the result is improved quality of vision. Additional benefits of this coating are that they are dust repellent, have a tough coat to increase longevity and are water repellent.

Eyezen Lenses

Standard single vision lenses only consider the prescription in far vision, meaning that the lens is only optimised through the optimal centre of the lens. This means that your prescription isn’t maintained when looking at anything up close, which creates visual error and makes your eyes work harder leading to fatigue. This problem is getting worse in recent times now that more of us are on our phones, tablets or computer screens for longer periods of time. Eyezen is a range of eye protection lenses designed specifically with this issue in mind. Created with unique technology, these lenses will help increase your visual comfort by preventing eye fatigue, improving readability and reducing light glare.  By reducing the strain on your eyes, they won’t feel so uncomfortable and you will feel less tired as well as more relaxed.

Road Pilot Lenses

When we ask our patients about their vision whilst driving, a similar problem comes up consistently – many people don’t feel comfortable driving at night. This is often due to the lights during night time driving causing unwanted reflections and glare on your glasses. These reflections and glares come from a variety of sources such as headlights and street lamps, disturbing your eyes, creating visual discomfort and lower visual clarity. To combat this problem, we recommend Road Pilot lenses with Crizal Drive coating. Together, this combination offers:

  • Up to 90% less reflections at night
  • Optimal clarity of vision during the day and night
  • Complete protection against scratches, smudges, dust, water, harmful UV and blue-violet light

Crizal Sapphire Coating

In our daily routines we are exposed to multiple sources of light. Coming from all angles, when the light reaches your lenses it creates reflections. Without you realising it, these reflections can have a significant impact on your everyday life by making you adopt new behaviours such as adjusting your head, changing your posture or even taking off your glasses. The Crizal Sapphire lens coating reduces these light reflections and also ensures that your lenses are resistant to scratches, smudges, water droplets and dust particles. Most importantly, your vision will be crisp and much more vivid.

Bifocal & Varifocal Lenses

As we get older, our ability to see objects clearly in close range is affected. We refer to this as presbyopia, which is something that will affect us all at some point in our lives. You might notice that the text in a book or menu, or even in a text message is getting more difficult to see clearly – this could be the first signs of presbyopia.

Bifocal Lenses

Bifocal lenses allow for both your distance and reading prescriptions in one lens. Bifocals have a visible line in the lens where the distance prescription ends and the reading prescription begins, meaning there is a more sudden shift between the two prescriptions. Bifocal lenses are much more convenient than having to carry around multiple pairs of glasses with you. Bifocal lenses can be glazed to include an anti-glare coating, this is a coating that helps to improve your vision and reduce strain on your eyes by cutting down on unwanted glare from multiple light sources. With these reflections gone, more light will be allowed to enter your lenses which will increase the quality of your vision, especially at night.

Varifocal Lenses

Varifocal lenses also allow you to see clearly at all distances, by including both your distance and reading prescriptions within one lens. The main difference between varifocal and bifocal lenses is that varifocals don’t have any visible line where the prescription changes. This means that the shift between prescriptions is a more gradual change as your eye moves down the lens. The other benefit is that the appearance of the lens is much more discreet without the visible line.

E Series Lenses

The Varilux E Series range have a built-in swim control feature which allows you to adapt quickly to wearing varifocals. Swim control works by refining the curvature of the lens to reduce the ‘swim’ effect and image distortions, something that new varifocal lens wearers can find disorientating. By wearing E Series lenses, you will be sure to experience great vision and enhanced visual comfort.

X Series Lenses

The X Series lens range has revolutionised the varifocal. Previously, varifocal wearers would need to point their nose in the direction that they needed to see. The X Series lens dramatically reduces the need to do this, there is no need to struggle to find the sweet spot of the lens to see clearly. With this design you are able to see clearly through any part of the lens and experience enhanced vison seamlessly.
