Daily Disposable Lenses

Daily disposables are great for patients who want to be able to change between their glasses and contact lenses from day to day, or if you want to be able to wear contact lenses now and again for an event or sporting activity. There is little maintenance involved in wearing this type of lens, simply throw the lenses away after each use. These lenses are also great for travelling as no solutions are necessary for cleaning.

Fortnightly Lenses

Fortnightly lenses are best suited to those who wish to wear contact lenses more regularly. One pair of lenses will last for two weeks, you can wear them each day and take them out in the evenings. There is more maintenance involved with this type of lens, they will need to be cleaned regularly and stored in contact lens solution when you aren’t using them. When we are advising patients on the correct lens for them, we make sure to educate you on the correct way of looking after your lenses.

Monthly Lenses

Much like fortnightly contact lenses, monthly disposables are best for those patients wanting to wear contacts regularly. One pair of lenses will last for an entire month, meaning this is a more cost-effective way of wearing contact lenses every day. These lenses need to be cleaned and stored in contact lens solution when they aren’t being worn.

Toric Lenses

It is quite common for people to have an astigmatism. Astigmatism is when the cornea of the eye is shaped more like the curve of a rugby ball than a football. Contact lens manufacturers have taken this into consideration, meaning that there are a variety of lenses to choose from if your prescription includes an astigmatism. If you are concerned that your prescription is stopping you from getting contact lenses, a contact lens assessment will allow our opticians to advise you on what is available.

Multifocal Lenses

If you need glasses to help with both distance and reading, it is still possible for you to get contact lenses that work for you. Multifocal contact lenses can allow for both prescriptions, allowing you to switch between distance vision and near vision without the use of glasses.
